The Dutch central government plans AI-driven efficiency reforms to cut roughly 25,000 civil-service posts and achieve annual savings of €3.5 bln (~$3.9 bln), the government said on Monday. It targets €900 mln a year by 2027 and €3.5 bln by 2035; the cabinet will present the proposal early next year to use AI to boost productivity. The government’s budget deficit stands at 1.8%, low relative to EU peers, but that level and its long-term trajectory have prompted concern in fiscally conservative Netherlands.

ZDNet Korea reported that Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have scheduled mass production and shipments of 8-layer HBM4 for NVIDIA around Q2 next year. An industry source said NVIDIA plans to outfit Rubin Ultra NVL rack-scale systems with 8-layer HBM4; while 12-layer HBM4 remains the priority this year, the source expects the share of 8-layer HBM4 to rise sharply from mid-next year.
