Democratic candidate Bob Brooks defeated incumbent Republican U.S. Representative Ryan McKenzie to flip a House seat in Pennsylvania. Brooks, a local firefighters' union chair, won in a district Trump carried by about 3 percentage points in the 2024 presidential election. Nationwide Democrats need a net gain of four seats to win control of the U.S. House.

The State Administration for Market Regulation has approved and issued the national standard Indicators for Urban Services and Quality of Life for Sustainable Urban and Community Development. The standard creates 122 measurable, comparable and traceable indicators to assess city service levels and residents’ quality of life. Indicators are categorized as core, auxiliary and summary and span 19 domains, including economy, education, energy, environment and climate change, health, housing, transport and safety.

According to Israel Public Broadcasting (KAN), opposition leader Eisenkot told a closed-door meeting he will not join a cabinet led by Netanyahu, and said he would refuse even if U.S. President Trump asked him to. He added he would meet Trump out of respect for the president but would stress government formation is Israel’s internal matter and resist external interference. National Unity and Yisrael Beiteinu (led by Liberman) have agreed to recommend Eisenkot to form the next cabinet; if the two Arab party alliances also back him as expected, Eisenkot would be poised to form a government. Liberman has ruled out joining any cabinet that includes or depends on Arab parties, a major obstacle for the opposition. Eisenkot will hold a coordination meeting on Tuesday.
