China’s foreign ministry special envoy for Afghanistan, Yue Xiaoyong, visited Turkey, Pakistan and Afghanistan from July 30 to Aug. 8, 2026. In Turkey he held consultations with the director-general for South Asia at Turkey’s foreign ministry on matters of mutual concern. In Pakistan and Afghanistan he met relevant officials to discuss promoting improved development ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

截至8月5日，財政部公佈的聯邦總債務約爲39.83萬億美元。CBO預計，2026財年淨利息支出約1.04萬億美元，相當於每天28.5億美元，佔7.4萬億美元聯邦支出的約14%，並超過9180億美元國防支出；同時約相當於1.9萬億美元財政赤字的55%。隨着大量低息國債陸續到期，其中約10.2萬億美元將在未來一年滾動，而30年期收益率7月底一度升至5.27%。隨着舊債逐步換成高息新債，平均融資成本還會繼續上升。
