China's peak electricity load during the summer-peak period reached a record
1.557 billion kW (1,557 GW), roughly 50 GW higher than last year's peak, the
National Development and Reform Commission said. The NDRC said it will closely
monitor conditions, respond to emergencies to ensure completion of this year's
summer energy-supply tasks, and is starting analysis and preparations for the
heating season to secure winter energy and heating supply.
