A deputy coordinator of the Iranian Army's air defense forces stated that Iran's air defense system has been deployed at over 3,800 locations nationwide, performing four core tasks: detecting, identifying, intercepting, and engaging aerial targets. He pointed out that the primary responsibility of the air defense forces is to monitor all flying objects within and outside Iranian airspace and, when necessary, respond through fighter jet interception or missile strikes. The ultimate goal is to prevent enemy aircraft from completing their missions and to destroy them. These deployment points are scattered across diverse terrains, including deserts, coastlines, islands, and mountains, with many located in remote areas with poor transportation access.
