At the Digital China Expo in Guiyang, the National Data Administration said China’s compute network is deeply coupled with five infrastructure networks — water, new power grids, next‑generation communications, urban underground pipe networks and logistics — forming an integrated system that mutually empowers operations. The agency said compute acts as the “brain,” enabling intelligent dispatch and improved renewable absorption in new power grids; collaborating with next‑gen communications to accelerate data flow, model training and applications; supporting basin‑level water forecasting and dynamic water allocation; enabling real‑time monitoring, risk warning and emergency linkage for urban lifeline systems (gas, drainage, heating); and linking logistics to lower costs and boost supply‑chain efficiency. It reported national intelligent compute capacity of 2.45 million PFLOPS (FP16) as of end-July, with eight national compute hubs and three power‑compute coordination zones comprising over 85% of the country’s compute scale.
